The 2026 Annual Watershed Wide Clean Up!

Would you like to be a Cleanup Captain for the 2026 April Creek Clean Up?

As a Site Captain for the Darby Creek Valley Association's (DCVA) Annual Watershed Wide Spring Cleanup, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Selecting and Managing a Cleanup Site: Choose a specific location for the cleanup, ensuring it's on public property or that necessary permissions are obtained for private areas.
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Leadership: Actively recruit volunteers and lead them during the cleanup event, providing guidance and support.
  • Supply Coordination: Coordinate with DCVA to receive necessary supplies such as trash pickers, gloves, bags, and t-shirts. While DCVA aims to deliver these items, you may be asked to pick them up if delivery isn't feasible.
  • Record-Keeping and Reporting: After the event, return reusable supplies and provide DCVA with waiver/sign-in sheets, an approximate count of collected trash bags, and any leftover materials. Sharing photos from your cleanup is also encouraged.

DCVA supports Site Captains by providing essential supplies, guidance on organizing the cleanup, and assistance with volunteer recruitment. We also offer channels for reporting and feedback to ensure the success of the event and to secure funding for future cleanups.
