Volunteer Rain Garden Planting

Saturday, June 11th from 9am-11am

Rain gardens act as natural water filters and flood control, by holding back stormwater and allowing it to be filtered through the soil, replenishing groundwater while removing polluting nutrients and sediments. By protecting water quality, rain gardens keep our lakes, streams, and groundwater healthy and are important to the integrity of aquatic ecosystems. Volunteers are needed to help plant rain gardens in the Brookline area of Havertown for a project funded by a PA DEP Growing Greener Grant to research the beneficial effects of rain gardens. Pre-registering is easy and saves time at the event, but volunteers are welcome to show up and sign in.

Donations are appreciated to support the work we do, but are not required!
