Young Naturalist Lunch & Learn with Author Scott Russell Sanders

Please join us in welcoming author Scott Russell Sanders to share his book Crawdad Creek, a beautiful story about two children discovering the beautiful and fascinating life within the creek that runs behind their house (not to mention an Outstanding Science Trade Book for Children chosen by the National Science Teachers Association and the Children's Book Council). We suggest going outside beforehand and looking for some small, rounded rocks to bring along for an interesting discussion! Grab your lunch and join us as the author reads from Crawdad Creek, talks about how he came to write it, and why outdoor adventures for kids are so important.

Scott Russell Sanders is the author of more than two dozen books for children and adults, some drawn from history, some from imagination. As writer, teacher, and public speaker, he seeks to convey his wonder at the vast, marvelous, unending show we call nature, and his curiosity about the two-legged species to which he belongs. His newest book The Way of Imagination will be released on August 11th.
