Join Debbie Beer, an avid birder in the Philadelphia region, to learn about birds of the Darby Creek Watershed. From hawks, warblers and wrens, to ducks, egrets and eagles, the Darby Creek watershed is home to more than 200 bird species. Meadows, woodlands, and waterways provide crucial resources for a great variety of resident, migratory, and breeding birds. A walk through neighborhood parks, urban streets, or the expansive John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge showcases interesting avian activity all year long.

Debbie is the Director of Volunteer Engagement with Natural Lands (www.natlands.org), a regional non-profit, member-supported, land conservation organization dedicated to saving open space, caring for nature, and connecting people to the outdoors. She is passionate about birding, conservation, and sharing experiences in nature. She has travelled to exciting places to see wildlife, including Africa, Brazil, India and beyond. Debbie is fortunate to be able to integrate her passion for birding with her career in mobilizing hundreds of volunteers to make a difference with Natural Lands.
